Up until yesterday my blinds have been working perfectly fine. I tried to create a favorite setting on it being halfway open and since then the blinds have been stuck shut (I have them programmed to close 15 minutes after sunset now).
I tried resetting with hitting the remote confirm button 5 times then resetting the limit but they will never open the whole way - it’ll just jog at the bottom now. The app shows the device is still connected and online.
One of our blinds is of the same SelectBlinds family & I finally gave up on having a Favorite Position. I could never get the blind to open fully from the fully closed position–almost like the Open and Open Next commands were identical and went from fully closed to the favorite position–and not to the fully open position–when the Open command was sent from the Bond App.
It will be very helpful if you come up with a solution!
BTW, I found after the battery in the shade dropped below some level, unpredictable results (including just a shade “jog” motion) occurred. After charging overnight–or until the LED turned green–operation was much better.
Yeah I have 2 blinds now where they appear to be bricked because of this. I’ve tried so much troubleshooting and they just won’t respond now (blind batteries are charged, hitting the C to reset into programming will jog them but nothing beyond that). I sent select blinds 2 warranty requests now and they said they sent my info to the factory so hopefully there’s some remade blinds on the way.
Really shocking how easily they get bricked considering how expensive they are - it feels like a “you have 5 attempts to sign in with your password then your account is locked type of situation except there is no remedy but to get new blinds….not great.
So far, I haven’t contacted SelectBlinds support about this. I suspect it’s only a very small percentage of their installed base that use either the Bond Bridge or the previously sold-by-them Neo bridge to control their blinds. One would suspect their first-level support people don’t even have a “script” to follow for folks like us.
My son has one of the Neo bridges previously sold by SelectBlinds and he has similar problems with his: not always opening, opening to the “:wrong” position, not opening at all, etc. Perhaps it boils down to just an inferior blind motor/controller/receiver. This has got to be a tough market…
