RealFyre Compatibility

Hello everyone. I have an hard project I am working on. I currently have a high capacity 200k btu fireplace that I need to source a variable valve for that has a remote that is compatible with Bond. The only option I can find is below, however, I fear that the remote would not work with bond just considering the look of the remote and how the buttons operate. Has anyone used this type of valve and remote?

Any other ways to confirm if this would work short of buying it and trying?

Links below to the unit question and the spec sheet. Appreciate the help.

I did just try reaching out to the manufacturer. You may also try. Ideally they would test the integration on their end. Seems like a reputable California company so good chance they would be receptive to this. Sadly we at Bond do not know if this particular fireplace is compatible or not.

I spoke to the over the phone and they were very stern with avoiding smart home integrations…probably for liability reasons. But every time I tried to explain he just kept saying there it isn’t possible to connect to Alexa or voice command options…

Another question, if I could get my hands on just the remote, would I then be able to test its compatibility with Bond?

I would be fine with spending 50 bucks or so to purchase a remote to test, rather than 1100 for the entire unit.

Don’t you have a Bond Bridge? Get the remote and see if you can learn it.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t be too excited about working with a company that won’t give you any support.

Sadly no. You could tell if the remote were able to be recorded, but until you have the full fireplace system you cannot know if it will control properly.

Re: safety: indeed this is something that you need to take into careful consideration, as ultimately it is your home and welfare. And, you as the system integrator are responsible for the safety of that integration. A fireplace mfg should sell a product that is well-thought-out from a safety perspective. Bond may or may not be able to replay a signal for you, but then it’s on you to consider the system safety. If that makes anyone uncomfortable, please do not automate heaters or fireplaces!
