iOS/Android apps - v2.14.0-beta1 release

Hey guys,
we just deployed beta versions of both apps, that’s:

  • v2.14.0-beta1 on Android, which is available in Fabric
  • v2.14.0(1664) on iOS, available soon in Testflight.

If you are not a beta tester yet, join in these links:

As this release fixes some issues from 2.13.0, we are sending the same build for both stores. So these beta versions are the same as the store versions.

Both Apps

  • Now you can upgrade v1 Bonds without Green Resetting them.
    • If you have a v1 FW Bridge on your account, you can now upgrade it normally as it were a v2 FW Bridge.
  • Support for offline one-click devices. (These are remotes that we find on our database, that were added as cloud devices before)
    • You have to upgrade your bridge to v2.7.19, which will be released soon.
    • Not all one-click devices are supported yet.
  • Dimmer button fixes
  • Several improvements of stability and UI

Android Specific

  • Support for Android 10, which changes the way the app has to request to connect to a Bond Config network.

— EDIT ----

Android v2.14.1-beta1

  • The Beta version had a problem where the FW upgrade through the setup flow (adding a bond bridge to account) wouldn’t work
  • Fix command buttons not appering on the remote screen for some recorded devices
  • Hopefully, fix a problem loading the buttons’ icons

Do you know if the F2 made the cut? Either way I am excited to test it out.

Yeah, any fan that doesn’t start with R is in v2.7.19, plus a few fireplaces that do start with R: RFP4, RFP5, RFP10.

Hey guys,

Any reason why there are still two Bond apps available on both iOS/Android marketplaces?

Our dealers are getting confused and are installing the older Bond app which in turn means they are not updating to the latest firmware.

@alanchow Re: two apps, we will be pushing out ASAP an update to the old “Bond Bridge” app which clarifies that it does not support the API, Control4, and other local integrations, and that the Bond Home app is recommended for new users. — This is a change to the app description and an in-app pop up so it cannot be missed.

We will pull the Bond Bridge app from the stores by the end of the year.

Cool that is perfect. Just need to minimise confusion.

Hey Alan,

The old Bond Bridge app has been updated to v1.142.0, in which we direct any user who attempts to set up a Bond unit to download the new app with a deeplink to the store.

We’ve also added text at the top of the old app description:

New Bond users are strongly encouraged to use the new Bond Home app, not this app. This app does not support Local API, SmartThings, Control4, and other local integrations.

Thanks Chris. Most of our support thus far has been the case where they are using the old app or old firmware version.

ELAN development is going smoothly. Richard will be returning from leave in a week so URC and RTI development will progress upon his return.
