SelectBlinds Help

Hit a brick wall with Select Blinds customer service. I purchased a Select Blinds automation bridge - is this still based on Bond hardware/software as previous Select Blinds bridges were? Very little information on Select Blinds anywhere… Does anyone know how to connect to Google Home for automation? There does not appear to be a Select Blinds service to add in the same manner as e.g. Hue or Wyze.

Matter pairing also seems to be non-functional, but that’s a different problem.

SelectBlinds currently has two bridge offerings:

  • SelectConnect Bridge (BD-920-SLBD) — This is essentially a Bond Bridge customized for SelectBlinds. It works with the Bond Home app and connects traditional RF-controlled motors that SelectBlinds historically carried.
  • [new] SelectBlinds Automation Bridge — This is a new offering from SelectBlinds that connects their new shades which use a new proprietary technology. This works with a new app from SelectBlinds (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.selectblinds.automation&hl=en_US).

Now, if you have both Bridges, or if you just prefer to use the Bond Home app or our integrations, we can offer you this:

On the latest SelectConnect Bridge (and Bond Bridge) firmware (v4.27.50-beta), you can integrate with the SelectBlinds Automation Bridge, bringing in those motors and giving you all your shades in a single app (Bond Home).

If you give this a whirl, please let me know!

Thank you for the response - at this point the SelectBlines Automation bridge appears to be pretty nonfunctional. I’ll try to get it working.

Any advice on how to get select blinds out of ship mode? The three button press does not work on 3 or of 5 blinds shipped. Select blinds don’t appear to have viable troubleshooting guides anywhere. Customer service, while pleasant enough, is not helpful. Would rather not get more blinds shipped.

Ooo unfortunately I cannot help you there, as we have not been involved in the development of the new SelectBlinds bridge nor the new motors and control protocol. We have only integrated with their new bridge in an attempt to allow homes with more than one technology to still have control in one place.

Hey there, earlier you said:

On the latest SelectConnect Bridge (and Bond Bridge) firmware (v4.27.50-beta), you can integrate with the SelectBlinds Automation Bridge, bringing in those motors and giving you all your shades in a single app (Bond Home).

How is this achieved? I recently received my SelectBlinds Automation Bridge and attempted to connect it directly to Alexa but it doesn’t work at all, so I’m interested in pulling it into the Bond bridge.

I have both the old SelectConnect Bridge hooked up to the Bond app (no issues with this) and I have the new SelectBlinds Automation Bridge hooked up to the SelectConnect app, but I’m not sure how to bring it into the Bond app.

Hi Gamecrazy,

We’d be delighted for you to try!

Just go to Bond Home app > Settings > Managed Integrations > Select Blinds.

You will need to Enable, and possibly tap on the cell and adjust a setting on the web interface that appears.

And to answer your question Brian: no we do not make the new SelectBlinds Automation Bridge. However if you also have a Bond Bridge or SelectConnect Bridge (powered by Bond) then you should be able to inter connect them.

(We have always marked all Bond hardware, even hardware we make in collaboration with other brands, as “by Bond”, and it always works with at least the Bond Home app, to avoid silos and keep it clear.)

Got it to work, thanks so much! I had no idea you could tap on the hub to enter the web interface (or that there was a web interface at all), might be worth making it clearer that you can tap on that.

I attempted to enable auto-detection but the web form wouldn’t let me (got a 400 error due to the IP being invalid, even though I was trying to use auto-detection, not the IP, and it was set to 0.0.0.0). This wasn’t a problem for me though, I assigned my SelectBlinds bridge a static IP and entered it manually and it worked smoothly.

Also, I really appreciate the fast response!
