Seeking Big Ass Fans + Bond Beta Testers

Anyone interested in testing the new Big Ass Fans integration for Bond Bridge Pro?

You’ll need:

  • Bond Bridge Pro
  • One or more Big Ass Fans on the same WiFi network as your Bridge Pro

Setup:

  1. Update your Bridge Pro to the latest beta firmware
  2. Open a browser on your phone or computer
  3. Go to http://“your-bridge-ip”/bigass
  4. Select Enabled, then hit Save, then Reboot
  5. After reboot, your fans will be discovered automatically and show up in the Bond Home
    app

That’s it! Fan speed and light brightness will show up as
controls in the app.

Name changes made in the BAF app will sync over to Bond
automatically.

Reply here if you’re interested!

Hmm. I didn’t know BAF units had wifi. Mine has an RF remote (Lutron Pico).

Some do! AFAIK it is primarily found in the i6 and Haiku series of fans.

Ah. Mine is an 14’ Essence in my hangar.

Ah I see. Unfortunately, this beta wouldn’t support that model.

This Big Ass Fan integration worked for easy setup, and appeared easily in Bond app, but not responding to commands to turn on/off or select a fan speed of 1 thru 7… and then (maybe unrelated) my Big Ass Fan no longer is reachable in the Big Ass app either…maybe I need to reboot everything,…

OK that worked! Cycled the power from the breaker for Big Ass Fan and re-added it to the WiFi network in the Big Ass app, and now that works, AND the Bond Pro now sees it and controls it just fine! Love it!

Any thoughts after using for a bit? Something we could improve? Does it still work for you?

Sometimes I have to use the Big Ass Fan app after a while of not using it, almost as if the Bond Pro can’t communicate with the fan or the fan ignoring the commands, but once I wake the fan up with the Big Ass Fan App, then I can use Bond Pro….not super reliable at this point…
