Question about delays, sometimes

I have noticed recently that some shades take a while to respond - around a minute of so. And then they respond just fine. I have several types of shades in the house but the predominant type is Smartwings, so let’s assume it is with them for now. I haven’t tested with the other shades that much so I don’t know if they are the issue.

I am updated to latest version on my hubs.

I issue the open or close command and it takes over a minute for the shade to respond. Then I come back later and try again and it responds within seconds.

I have the hub located on the floor in the floor below at ceiling level up against the floor line of this room.

The app is updating correctly. Is there anything I can check on my end to see what might be contributing to this delay?

Whoa, 1 minute is an eternity. — From what user interface are you issuing the command? Is this the Bond Home app, or?

Yes, from the Bond app. I am trying to reproduce it so I can put my finger on what is happening.

Just spitballing, but is it possible it is sending through the commands but not getting an ack and therefore is trying multiple times over some period of time before it is successful?

Strange… The SmartWings implementation on our side is just 1 way. There should never be any situation where we are transmitting over more than a 5 sec period. Also, in the app we should have timeouts of 7 seconds just about everywhere.

Question: is the blinking of the Bridge’s blue light ring also delayed by a minute? Or does it blink right away and is then just chilling on solid blue when the motor eventually moves?

In the latter case, one crazy thing you could try is, wait for idle, tap the command in the app, then unplug the Bridge and wait a minute. See if the shades still move. That would tell us if the delay is actually on the motor side.

Good information. I thought it was two way. The hub is not in the same room so I have to catch it doing it again so I can go inspect the hub.
