Hello since about 1 month, my bond (not pro) stopped working until rebooting it.
For example, I reboot bond now… I can issue any commands, via the Bond App, Home Assistant, Google home, they all work fine. . then after 30-40 minutes, it stops responding… No matter how I issue a command, even with bond app, it just gets ignored.
If I reboot the bond device, then commands starts to work again.
I have tried latest firmware and beta firmwares with no difference.
If I do a rescue thing, does doing a backup and restore helps me having to re-configure 12 blinds ?
In case you use a mesh router this could give some problems if that system is dynamically reassigning devices “for optimization” to different branches and temporarily disconnect the respective link of the Bond bridge.
Or
your wifi system is unstable
Or
there is a HW issue with your Bond bridge - if the failure occurs more or less after a given period of time past a fresh reboot this looks like a thermally drift induced failure.
Q: Is the failure time dependent on use conditions?
Hello. Thanks for the inputs.
1- I do use mesh. it has been the same system for over 2 years, including bond. I will think a little more on this.. could be something here
2- Unlikely, very stable, I work from home so I would know if it’s not good
3- I haven’t timed it, but heat could be something… I will move to another place.
It’s not dependent on usage. I use 3 times a day. Open all shades, close all shades, and an eventual close during the day
update. I did another factory reset. It seems to be lasting longer…12 hours and still works…Can fathom why one hardware reset wouldn’t work and now it does (IF it indeed fixed it)
Just for clarification:
You used the WiFi reset process and not the factory reset.
Which doesn’t do a complete HW refresh which could have missed some HW settings related to your failure in the 1st reset pass. That’s something the Bond developers should know.
