I just set up a Bond Sidekick to operate a specific channel of shades in an office. I placed the sidekick in 8-key mode so that I could set specific presets for each key press. The key press programming is as follows:
1 - Open
2 - position to 20%
3 - position to 50%
4 - position to 80%
5 - Close
6 - Hold (aka stop)
7 - Close
8 - Open
The issue that I am facing, is that most of the time when I press 3 - 50% for instance, it will go all the way down to 100% and then back up to 50%. If I press 2 - 20% after that it will go up to 0% and then back down to 20%.
Am I doing something wrong on the programming side in Bond or is this a known function of how this should work?
This is indeed how it works for technologies like Somfy RTS which do not have a discrete “set position” command, and we need to emulate it through timed commands. That said, it should be some of the time, not most of the time: we only go all the way to the rail after there’s some uncertainty like after ~5–8 operations in my experience. (This assumes you are using RTS or another deadreckoned slider in the app. Igor indeed can check.)
