Weird issue on my Bond Bridge Pro with some Somfy shades

Hi all,

I have an weird issue that has been happening constantly, and I’d like to see if anyone has an idea.

I have Bond Bridge Pro with latest firmware, and a few dozens of Somfy battery shades (most are roller shades, and a few are honeycone shades). I have all of them connected to my Bond bridge and then Home Assistant, and works well for 1+ years, until recently.

So the constant issue is:

  • 3 Somfy battery honeycone shades suddently stopped working with Bond Bridge Pro. My daily route that is scheduled by Home assistant, works on every shade, except these 3 shades.
  • When I go to Bond app, I can control other shades, but not the 3 shades
  • My physical Somfy remote still works, and can open or close these 3 shades
  • All of them are fully charged, one replaced with brand new battery, but not resolved.
  • When I try to unpair these 3 from Bond app, the unpair does not work, and it will show me a link to contact customer services
  • But magically, after I trying to unpair a few times (unsuccessfully), the physical Somfy remote would stop working. All these 3 have the exact same pattern (after trying to unpair from Bond app, physical remote will stop working)
  • After following Somfy instructions to reset the motor, and pairing the shades with physical remotes, and then bond app, all the 3 shades will work, and be controlled by home assistant.
  • BUT, this won’t last long, usually a few days, maybe 1-2 weeks, these 3 will stop working again. And the same symption will show up: physical remote will work, but after failed unpairing from bond app, physical remot will stop working.
  • I have tried multiple times to reset motors to get it working, then always see these 3 shades stop working in a few days.

I have other Somfy honeycone shades in the same room that doesnt have the issue, and have tried to move Bond Bridge Pro to the same room, doesnt fix the issue.

I got confused:

  1. Why unpairing bond bridge pro would cause physical remote stop working
  2. Why only these 3 would not work with bond bridge pro, while all other Somfy shades works well
  3. Why the same symption could repeat, and why reset motor would resolve the issue, but only last for few days.

Read some articles online saying it’s possible due to the motor connected to too many devices causing the clog, and the motor stops taking any commands, but for each shade, I only pair to one remote, and the bond bridge pro. Would this possibly because Bond bridge pro trying to pair with the shades multiple times causing the pairs reaching the limit? Customer services agent said it’s impossible…

Just another thought about organizing the shades/blinds in groups on respective remotes and loading the remote group channels on to Bond. This reduces the communication traffic and adds desired synchronization on items that should follow a desired common operational behavior.
