I’ve added in a “is the iphone connected to the LAN” detection as well. Check runs every 10 minutes. So you can now auto close blinds when everyone leaves the house.
Also added in a check to see how much power a solar panel would get; alt to skycover as this seems to be better for how dark is it outside.
You can use Samsung’s SmartThings to accomplish this. It works for my zipcode. Will open the blinds all the way for “severe weather.”
SmartThings sounds like a very easy way to get this going at no cost. We also got a lot of requests for weather-based control but that needed to work offline, so we built Breeze Pro.
Would love this, it’s just out of my price range.
