I’m looking to replace a few ceiling fan remote modules with ones Bond can know the state of or that has discreet on/off options for both the fan and lights for use with ST via IFTTT for now until full ST integration is ready, and hoping someone can provide a suggestion for a reliable remote for this? With my current remote Bond doesn’t know the current state and so when IFTTT sends an off command it just toggles the lights so most of the time they come on rather than turn off.
EDIT: Please consider a Smart by Bond kit instead. It has built-in WiFi and so it always knows the correct state, and you get state feedback upon changes made with the factory remote. There’s currently only one model, made by a partner of ours and sold via HomeDepot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Universal-Smart-Wi-Fi-4-Speed-Ceiling-Fan-Remote-Works-with-Google-Assistant-SmartThings-and-Alexa-99434/311264804
(Currently out of stock on HomeDepot, but that should change any day now.)
This is currently my go-to remote+receiver kit: https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Thermostatic-Ceiling-Control-Conversion/dp/B001RJ8X0M/ref=pd_sim_60_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001RJ8X0M&pd_rd_r=TDX3DFX57YBW411NXR72&pd_rd_w=8PU73&pd_rd_wg=pw1sU&psc=1&refRID=TDX3DFX57YBW411NXR72
It has a flexible light dimmer that transmits the full state of the device with each transmission.
It’s only 3-speed though.
Thanks, I’ll give that a try!
This thread is a bit old, so I am curious if the remote that you suggested is still your go-to device or are there other devices you would currently recommend for ceiling fan/light control. I just purchased a Bond with a new ceiling fan and I would like to begin to convert some other fans over as well.
I updated my earlier post. Indeed we’ve got a better mousetrap now. The Smart by Bond kits would be the ticket for converting your other AC fans that don’t already have remote controls. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Universal-Smart-Wi-Fi-4-Speed-Ceiling-Fan-Remote-Works-with-Google-Assistant-SmartThings-and-Alexa-99434/311264804
Thanks for sharing merck. Now I just have to wait for them to come back in stock.
