Homebridge to support Position feature (% setting of shades)

This morning I tried out Homebridge for the first time, setting it up on my MacBook. It was straightforward thanks to a good readme by @aarons22.

What I was able to add is support for shades that can set a particular percentage.

I see that Aaron did update the plugin a few months ago from community PRs, so let’s see if he’s able to accept this contribution also.

I’d like to see how the process goes getting this support deployed. Then there’s many other features that are supported on Alexa/Google Home that we could potentially bring here. This is a really convenient development environment!

Thanks for the tag! I’m not doing any active development on the plugin since it’s been fairly stable, but always welcome pull requests for new features. I’ll take a look and get that approved/merged and then deploy the update to npm

updated version of the plugin (3.2.12) is now available!

@davidabuch I believe you should be able to update the homebridge-bond plugin in HOOBS now. Look for version v3.2.12.

Nice! Seems to be working!
Thanks for the help.

If you guys are able to get native integration to HomeKit working directly through Bond without crashes let me know and I’ll switch back it this should be a good work-around. Much appreciated.

Separate question:

I’m trying to get Bond to learn an IR remote for an Epson projector and it just times out without learning the button. Any suggestions?

For IR recording, you need to set the Signal Type to IR in the Advanced Settings before the scanning.

There is some instructions in this link: https://olibra.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032826851--Bond-Bridge-Set-up-manual#Adding_iOS

I have the Bond Pro which I don’t think can handle IR recordings.

You are right, the Bond Pro does not support IR.
