@dxdc could you please share a photo of the motor labels for each motor, and annotate the behavior of each? I know it’s a bunch of opening up shades, but it would help us figure out what we are looking for.
We have some AMP motors here, but they are a few years old. Maybe something changed. We’ve got to know what we need to buy to test it out.
thx @merck, I tried but these are at my parents house and they have some limitations. I don’t know how to open up their blinds and they aren’t sure about how to do it either. If it helps, these were ordered/installed by 3 day blinds a few weeks ago.
they are going to return the unit unfortunately as no way to make it work in its current state unfortunately. I was really hoping it would work for them.
Hi @dxdc, if your folks have not already returned the Bridge, please give the latest beta v3.3.16 a try. We made some further tweaks. I still don’t have AMP motors here, but I have a good feeling about this version…
@merck I updated the software, but same behavior. do you have any other last-minute thoughts? Would unpairing and repairing the blinds make a difference?
You could try re-pairing. Maybe the shades are actually unpaired. (The pair signal is, sadly, a toggle. So it may be inverse of what you intended. Hard to tell when the control signals are not working well.)
@merck - I tried repairing. That worked to get 4/5 blinds working. However, after repeated attempts to get the last one to take, it wouldn’t pair. If it’s relevant, the shades only beeped 3 times instead of the usual 4 for that one.
However, the bigger problem is that when using groups (built in groups from the bottom of the screen), it only worked to move 1/3 shades in a group.
I have exhausted my parents patience now and they are returning it… hopefully once newer firmware comes out and some time goes by I can try again
I know that @dxdc ran out of attempts , but we’ve continued to work on the motor control issue on our side and finally have a beta that works nicely with all the Dooya and Rollease motors we have here. Actually not tested yet with AMP motors (we need to dig them out), but good chance this helps others in a bind with any Dooya-based motor.
Version is: v3.3.13.2-beta (yes the third digit decreased since last beta).
1st-gen Bond Bridges (manufactured through 2018, having serial number starting A or B) are sadly not receiving any more firmware updates, and they do not support the FSK modulation needed for AMP anyways. We learned a lot in the first two years of shipping Bridges and have much longer-term support prospects on the 2nd-gen Bridges that we’ve made since early 2019.
I should note that we have indeed reproduced an issue with AMP motors and the Bond Bridge where they don’t seem to like the slider. In fact, the motors hate it and they implicitly become unpaired upon receiving a slider command. We’ve got a workaround though:
Just select AMP instead of Rollease in the setup flow.
