My new Bond Bridge won’t connect to my new Orison 21” Outdoor Ceiling fan model B63993. I guess it was a longshot but since very few outdoor fans are Alexa enabled I took a chance and hoped the Bond Bridge would fill the gap. It won’t. I’ve tried many ways, reset Bond Bridge, reset fan, etc. etc. and no luck. Any suggestions?
Quickly looking up this fan, it seems that it may already be smart? Seems to have Wifi and Alexa support built in? If not, there is a possibility of pairing the remote control if it is 300–450 MHz RF. But if the remote uses 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth, then it cannot work with BD-1000.
Thanks for the reply - just found it. The Orison B63993 is not smart. It has quite a few functions but all from the remote or app, in fact, the app doesn’t keep track if changes made by the remote (and I suppose vice versa). I think I did get at least one function of the fan to respond to the Bond one time but that was it. I tried multiple communications with Orison to ask for tech details on the remote but they never replied. It would be SO cool if someone at Bond could do a deeper dive and see what’s up with this fan. Again, thanks for your response!
Update: Here is the Amazon RUFUS AI response when asked if the fan works with Alexa - note last bullet:
What this means for Alexa compatibility:
-
No direct Alexa voice control - since it uses Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi, it can’t connect directly to your Echo devices
-
App control works great - you can control all functions (fan speed, lighting, timer) through your phone
-
Remote control included - traditional RF remote for easy operation
