I read through some older posts regarding the Bond Bridge with Minka Aire lights/fans. I got the Bridge connected to Home Assistant and it’s working well. In my room, I installed the Minka Aire WC211 Wall Control System so I can still control the fan and light at the switch. Is there a way that Bond can tell when I turn the light on with the wall switch? It’s all RF based so I was hoping it would ‘see’ the RF action and thus know that the light was toggled? Possible?
What I’m trying to do is when the light is triggered, I want a floor lamp to also turn on and turned off when the light is turned off. It works when done through HA and my automation, but there’s no way for HA to know when the button is pressed because right now Bond isn’t seeing it.
No, there’s not currently a way to have a Bond Bridge “always listen” for an existing RF signal (remote or in wall).
You can find some suggestions in the thread below, but basically, you can’t mix smart control and non-smart control. All Bond, with its support for voice control and potential to integrate with physical controls via API calls managed by a smart home controller platform, or you’ll never quite get to what you seek.
