Ozarké lamp connection

Hi folks. I’ve recently picked up an Ozarké lamp that I’m trying to get into Home Assistant via my Bond Bridge, and I’ve run into some issues. It has an RF remote, but I haven’t been able to teach the frequency to the Bond Bridge. I’ve emailed the manufacturer to find out what frequency the remote operates at, and got a response that the frequency is 50-60 Hz. Given that the listed compatible frequency for RF remotes is 300-450mhz, it seems to me that I may have been given an incorrect number. Has anyone run into remotes with a similar frequency, and is there any way you’ve found of working around it? Presumably not, but I thought it was worth asking.

Thanks!

Haha, 50–60 Hz is referring to the frequency of alternating current that the lamp supports on the power utility side.

If you are in the USA and the remote is RF, it should have an FCC ID number printed on it that allows looking this up. If it is IR, then you should see a little LED or window on the top (and it won’t work if you cover it up entirely).

Sometimes there is no FCC ID (not following regs) and that is sad. In this case you’d need to investigate with test equipment and/or open it up to reverse engineer.

Hi Merck, thanks for the reply. I was thinking that 50-60 Hz didn’t sound right. There’s no LED or window on it, and it can control the lamp without line of sight, so I’m pretty sure it’s RF. I’ve reached back out to the company to see if I can get any more info.

Thanks!
