We have 4 Somfy shades on the same remote. Programming each one went ok. Now I want to have an ALL button. Basically its complicated, and my suggestion for bond is to enable this in the app. Allow people to combine individual shades as they like in the app rather than reprograming them as a group.
Welcome, @Stinsonddog !
Unfortunately, I don’t have Somfy myself so I’ll be no helo directly.
@royf007 was very active in an earlier thread about groups of Somfy shades and remotes / Bond integration.
If Roy is still hanging out in here, maybe there are some additional insights or suggestions they can provide.
@endy - who is the Bond staff member closest to Somfy current state and development?
Hey @Stinsonddog ! Good to have you here.
Thanks for tagging me @residualimages !
Me, @natan and @merck are working on Somfy related features, but unfortunately, it is not the “group” feature…
I don’t have Somfy too and don’t use the group (or scene, not sure how it is called) on the integrations, but I think that Alexa/GH can have a way to do it… @marcio maybe can help with this, if it makes sense to you @Stinsonddog .
@endy @natan (sorry I guess I can only tag 2 of you)
thanks for the dialog. Just want to point out that what I am suggesting is not just for Somfy but all shades you will add in the future. It’s common for one room to have multiple shades on the same remote and an ALL programming that is easy would be desired. As I understand it now I have to go through an entire reprogramming to an all button. Also if each Bond can only do 12, then it seems like I am using up 4 more but not sure. So something to think about. I am probably not speaking Bond unless you are drinking dry martinis so if I need to clarify let me know. Thanks.
@Stinsonddog
I am Guy from Bond Engineering, nice to meet you here
- pair Bond to number of Somfy shades
you mentioned “We have 4 Somfy shades on the same remote” - lets call it remote_all
so you dont need to pair your 4 shades to the Bond one by one.
when you create a new Somfy shade in the bond app,
during the pair process - you should press the remote_all pair button
then, you tap the pair button in the Bond app, then - all 4 shades will pair to Bond.
you just need to verify that when you press the remote_all pair button - ALL shades jogs,
meaning - all of them “waiting” for the next pairing signal (from the Bond)
if not all shade joged, not a problem, press remote_all pair again (short press, not long),
to get the shades out of pairing state, and try again.
(short press so the jogged shades will go back to normal,
and the shades that didnt jog - wont go now to pairing state).
- the 12 limit
thats not a Bond limit, the 12 is a limit of remotes that a Somfy motor can store,
we discovered that if you pair 12 remotes to a Somfy motor, you cant add the 13th one…
thats why it is important that before deleting a paired Somfy panel from the Bond app - unpair it from the shade (the app guides you there)
or else - this shade holds a remote (bond remote) that was gone (deleted) and it cant be removed now from the shade.
@guy WOW!! So Easy. That said your support team and web documentation is not current. I got a few different answers from support via email and the video on pairing the Somfy shades doesn’t cover multiple shades on one remote. Can you please have written instructions added to the video that covers both a single and multiple remote. This is a fantastic product and I will certainly be telling friends.
thanks for this valuable feedback, we’ll get to improve this
@guy Just gave BOND five stars on Amazon. Running my shades individually and as a group, and my fans too. Great addition to my house.
