Bond Hub can't unpair device: app not responding

I am trying to remove a device from my app. When I get to the right setting and click remove device, it says please unpair the device first. When I click that link it goes back to the device setting page, then swipes left to a black screen then gives me a message that “Bond isn’t responding”. When I click close, it takes me back to the device page.

Is it absolutely necessary to unpair the device before I delete it?

Weird. Sounds like the app is freezing. We’ll check our logs for your app instance and see if we can figure out why that’s happening.

No.

However, note that Somfy RTS motors (which I suspect you have) only support 12 remote addresses. So after you delete the device in the Bond app and re-add it you have a dead address in the motor and the only way to get it out is a factory reset of the motor which is a pain in the derrière.

It seems you were able to delete the device.

But I’d like to thank you, @dryheat122, for reporting the issue with Unpair. It turns out that Unpair was broken for Somfy RTS devices added in old firmware versions. We’ve got a fix for this in a forthcoming app release that will offer a way to unpair even for legacy devices.
