We have a project where we are trying to integrate a Lutron QSX system and Screen Innovations KAOS outdoor shades.
Using the Hex Editor, I can issue a command in Lutron QSX via the ethernet device, to control individual shades.
However, the Group Command does not work.
I can control the shades from the Bond app as a group, but when the hex command is put into the Lutron command set, using the same methodology as the single shade command, the command does not work.
Anyone experience this, and/or have a solution? It’s critical on this project that we can use a group command (that works)
Have you tried to defined groups at the remote level? This will assign for each group a quasi device which in any subsequent process should be handled as a separate device.
Each shade has a dedicated remote. And I created a group within the bond app (2 shades). that group works from the bond app, but not from the lutron system via the group hex command (individual shades work in lutron via the hex commands)
My process assumes a multi-channel remote and assigning multiple shades on same channel as group.
Based on my very extensive list of devices and groups I have decided to remove redundent communication to mimick grouping with hardware based grouping using remote level group formation. This enhanced reliability of process execution and reduces communication interference.
Strange that group command is not working. Questions:
Is it working from the test button in the hex code interface of bond?
You could try pasting into Claude or GPT the hex code and ask to decode it and ask what the issue is… it would be an http request that should be understandable to the AI
